Golden Grass is a plant, specie that is found always alive in the desert of Jalapão in the Tocantins state – Center-West of Brazil.
This plant in the hands of talented artisans is transformed into exotic and beautiful shining handcrafts that shine like gold.
Golden Grass has delicate foliage of golden coloration, its flowers are small and its rods are thick.
It is called scientifically as Singhnantus and is nothing more than a typical specie of humid field that grows only in Jalapão region. It is named grass, however it is a plant that in the adult age consist of aleaf rosette that is next to the ground and it is about 4 cms of diameter. It is harvest only once a year, between September and November.
